Israel Kimhi is a Jerusalem-born scholar and urban[S1] planner. Between 1973 and 1985, Kimhi was the director of the Policy Planning Department of the Jerusalem Municipality, under then-Mayor Teddy Kollek. For the past 28 years, Kimhi has been a senior researcher at the Jerusalem Institute for Israel Studies in charge of the Jerusalem Studies Desk.
